One in four people today suffer from some form of mental illness during their lives. This means that even if you do not suffer from one yourself chances are you will know someone who has been, is or will be diagnosed with a mental illness. Self Injury is not currently a disorder in its own right but it does feature in the diagnosis of borderline personality disorder and sufferers of a number of other disorders may self harm to alleviate their feelings.
